According to new allegations from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, declared in a news release that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” are unknown, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that Maxwell told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was transferred from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

Raskin asked whether he had discussed a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange her with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, family or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court rejected an appeal from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
